I carefully saved my oldest son’s graduation robe from MHS Class of 2003 for his younger brother to wear for his graduation Friday. I was so happy at the thought of getting a couple hours extra use out of the thing.
Last week I went to the closet to see if it needed cleaning or ironing and it was gone. I searched another closet even though I knew I put it in this closet for “safekeeping.” I figure it disappeared when my husband cleaned the closet. He’s a thrower.
I didn’t panic too much because I figured other people in Marshall must have an extra gown in their closets. My first stop was Deb Schroeder who is the receptionist at the Independent. Her son graduated with my son, so I figured she would have his still. By lunchtime she brought in the gown. Yay! I had been feeling a little anxious. The only thing is — Jacob is 6’2” or more and the gown is for someone 5’9” but I don’t care and I’m sure Jacob won’t either.
So Friday the guy with the mini robe? That will be my son.
