March 18, 2011 - Karin Elton
A couple nights ago my daughters wanted me to pick them up at a friend’s house in Marshall. They weren’t quite sure where they were so they had the friend tell me.

He mentioned that the house is on Heritage Circle. I told him I’ve never heard of Heritage Circle. He said it was a new development where they brought in houses from other towns. He said go to Freedom gas station and take a left. I should turn when I see “a big yellow house and then a blue van with no back bumper.”

Uh, I’m not the best with directions even when I’m given precise street names and numbers. But especially at night I need a little bit more guidance than looking for a van with no bumper.

I surprised myself by finding Heritage Circle off North 7th Street. I excitedly told the person “I’m on Heritage Circle!” He said we’ll turn on the light. Out of all the front lights, I couldn’t find his light, but I did recognize my girls coming out of a house.

Never did see the blue van with no back bumper.
