A new phone

December 3, 2010 - Cindy Votruba
I recently got myself a new cell phone. Now I don't have a fancy one, just a simple Tracfone, but this one has a camera and internet access. It's taken me a little while to get used to doing simple things, like texting and making sure the speakerphone is turned off, but I think I have the hang of it. I did panic momentarily when I started playing with different features and switched the language to Spanish. Then I couldn't find the necessary function to change it back (I did finally after a few frantic moments). And of course I transferred a few of my contacts to my new phone. Now I thought I had the correct cell phone number for a friend of mine who lives in Racine. So a couple of nights ago I thought I'd text her and say hi. And I got an answer back. At first I thought it was her, but the answers were kind of well, lazy "text speak." I'm thinking, "this doesn't sound like something Michelle would say, unless she got hip to the latest text messaging lingo." So I called the number. Some guy answered it. I told him that I think I have the wrong contact information. He thought so too. But I know it was her number as of last year. So either her number got reassigned or someone stole her phone. But I have to say, it was an interesting conversation.
