| | At least it's better than "Froggy"October 5, 2010 - Deb GauI woke up on Sunday with one of the worst raspy throats I've ever had. I could speak, sort of, but only in a bizarre combination of bullfrog and teenage boy-voice. Quiet talking was impossible, I found, and high notes just turned into uncomfortable squeaks. It's been interesting to find out that my inflection goes up whenever I'm getting emotional or emphasizing a word, but I could imagine so many less painful ways to learn that. Things have been getting better since Sunday, but very slowly. I suppose time will tell if this experience makes me a more efficient interviewer. The rest of the newsroom have decided my new nickname is "Liza," because of the voice issues. Real cute, guys. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
