Last Wednesday I interviewed Alison Arngrim, “Nellie” from the “Little House on the Prairie” television series. Wow, what a fun interview. After I got done talking with her for about half an hour, I was ready to get together for a beer with her. And I don’t even drink. She was funny, personable and very active in different causes, such as abuse victims and AIDS awareness.
Plus I would just love to read her memoir that just came out a couple of weeks ago. I found it amusing that she, Melissa Gilbert and Melissa Anderson all had their books come out within a year’s time. It’s like they probably all figured enough time has passed since the show ended and had a little e-mail conference saying “you gonna write a book? me too!” Then it becomes, as Arngrim put it “a duel of the three books.” From the reviews I’ve seen on Amazon about Arngrim’s memoir, people are just eating it up; they can’t get enough. I’m curious to see what she writes about as well as her writing style. If it’s anything like the phone conversation I had with her, I’m sure it will be hilarious.
