Someone just came in the office and brought me a bag of Pearson’s mint patties as a present/bribe.

The bag reminded me of when we lived in St. Paul and my mom worked at the Pearson’s Candy Co. Occasionally she would bring home boxes of irregular candy that didn’t make the looks standard, but still tasted good.

The difference between a fresh salted nut roll and one you buy in the store was vast. Instead of a hard log of nuts and whatever that white stuff is, the bars were gooey and caramelly.
