Fourth of July or Independence Day?Does England have a Fourth of July? Yes, and it also has a Third of July and a Fifth of July. When did Independence Day become the Fourth of July? You rarely see “Independence Day” in advertisements or notices. It’s always the Fourth of July. Happy Fourth of July! What does the Fourth of July mean? A time for picnics and fireworks — for some reason. But Independence Day commemorates when the United States of America declared itself independent from England in 1776. It’s like Mexico’s Cinco de Mayo. Oh, that’s not a good example to prove my point. Oh, well, Happy Independence Day! And to all the North American Indigenous Peoples — sorry!
