UncomfortablyNumb

March 25, 2010 - Karin Elton
I like to read the comments on this Web site. (I gloss over some when they get too repetitious — the liberal/conservative arguments that never get resolved.)

Even better than the comments are some of the names — I like “Bucketfoot” and now I just read a newbie — “ComfortablyNumb.”

I don’t know what bucketfoot means or why the person is comfortably numb.

Numb could be in a near-comatose state from world events, although the comments seemed cogent enough.

I feel bombarded with information every day. A lot of it I don’t want to hear, like Tiger Woods stuff. “Ladies” — stop! I wish Monica Lewinski would have kept her mouth shut — literally and figuratively. I don’t want to know that someone like Michelle “Bombshell” McGee exists. I just Googled her name because I could only remember the Bombshell part. Looks like there will be more Jesse James mistresses coming forward. Yay.

The world consciousness doesn’t need that. It coarsens us all.
