| | Some things in life ARE freeMarch 5, 2010 - Per PetersonThere might be no such thing as a free lunch, but there are free breakfasts. Tracy Elementary School has started offering its students free breakfasts, which consist of milk, juice, a nutrition bar, or cereal. The meal will be offered to the kids at the start of the school day (8:10 a.m.). Personally, I’m thankful for this, mostly because of the fact that two of my three kids attend Tracy Elementary and are on the bus by 6:40. SIX FORTY! They eat breakfast at home — either cereal, some toast, or a Pop Tart, but I’m not sure they ever really get filled up. Do kids even get full? The kids don’t eat lunch until around 11, so it’s good to know the two youngest of my children can get a little extra fuel for the day before getting down to the business of learning. The program is made possible through state and federal reimbursement programs. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
