Lamprecht set high standards at MPS business office

For more than 20 years the name “Bruce Lamprecht” has popped up in Marshall Independent news stories dozens and dozens of times. And that name was often connected to words of wisdom and important financial information regarding the Marshall Public School District.

Lamprecht has served the district for 24 years, most recently as director of business. On Tuesday night, board members received notice that Lamprecht would be retiring in June. Suddenly, the district is facing the prospects of losing the expertise that provided so much vital information to the district decision makers.

Board Chairman Jeff Chapman thanked Lamprecht for his service, but also said the business director has been “a blessing” to the district.

And Lamprecht has been recognized by his peers.

Last year, Lamprecht was named the Minnesota Association of School Business Official of the Year.

In his reaction to the award, Superintendent Scott Monson praised Lamprecht.

“When it comes to setting the standard of professionalism in the Marshall Public Schools District, Bruce is the consummate role model,” he was quoted as saying in the Independent.

The business office was also honored by the Association of School Business Officials International with its Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting and Accountability.

Lamprecht has definitely set the foundation to enable the business office to follow high standards for years to come.
