Lucien Vlaminck

KANDIYOHI — Services for Lucien Leon Vlaminck, 86, of Kandiyohi will be at 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Kandiyohi. Military honors will be provided by the Willmar American Legion Post. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

He died Friday, March 9, 2018, at his home.

He was born July 13, 1931, on the family farm in rural Ivanhoe to Peter and Ida (Sinave) Vlaminck. He joined the United States Army in Aug. 19, 1948, and served his country in Japan during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in November 1952.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen; children: Joe of Kandiyohi, Jeff of Rochester, Jesse of Spicer, Jon of Willmar, Jacob of Svea, Joy Gratz of Willmar and Jared of Willmar; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and brother John of Grass Valley, Calif.
