Joyce passed away and was welcomed into Heaven by God’s loving arms on Sunday, March 4, 2018.

Joyce Evelyn (Knowles) Visker was born on May 2, 1924, of Monroe Township to Roger and Madeline (Drum) Knowles. She graduated from Tracy High School 1942 and started working as a bookkeeper soon after. Joyce met the love of her life after high school when John walked into the soda fountain shop for a milk shake. It was love at first sight; the couple was united in marriage on July 29, 1944, at her parents’ home. This union was blessed with four children: Katherine, Betty Jo, JoAnn and Jon Dirk.

The couple did everything together. Joyce did all of the bookkeeping for John’s business. The couple farmed together cows, pigs and land. When they were not busy raising their family or working they enjoyed sitting together at the end of the dock fishing or watching television while holding hands on the couch. Joyce was actively involved at the Church of Christ, acting as the church treasurer for 35 years. She was the Tracy City Clerk for many years. Joyce also was a part of the Ladies Aide, hosting every Christmas the Ladies Aide Party. She was an avid baker, canned most of her garden and was a fabulous cook. Joyce was always smiling. She was described as a classy, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, whom will be dearly missed.

Joyce has left behind her husband of 73 years, John; children, Katherine Holland, Betty Jo (Warren) Troseth, JoAnn (Steven) Knott, Jon Dirk (Jeanie) Visker; grandchildren, Jennifer (Rob) Krostue, Tom (Melissa) Meixell, Jill (Lynn) Wess, Laura (Louis) duCharme, Weston (Katie) Troseth, Mary Lynn (Toby) Howard, Sarah (Chad) Kemp, Jeffrey (Jeanne) Knott, Andrew (Sue) Knott, Christopher (Stephanie) Visker, Joseph (Erin) Visker, Eric (Liz) Visker; 27 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Madeline; brothers, Gordon, Ronnie, David and Dennis; sisters, Joan, Annie Laurie and Patricia.
