MARSHALL — Private family services for Charlotte Brown, 91, of Marshall, formerly of Groton, Connecticut, will take place at a later date. Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at the Hospice house of Murray County in Slayton.
Charlotte Hermenia Steinbough, child of God, was born on June 30, 1926, at home in Dayville, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Herman and Mae Charlotte (Weeks) Steinbough.
On Feb. 26, 1944, Charlotte was united in marriage to Joseph Brown at the Greenville Congregational Church in Norwich, Connecticut. Joseph served in the United States Naval Submarine Service. Therefore, the family lived many places and eventually settled in Groton, Connecticut. Upon retirement the couple moved to Marshall to be close to family.
Charlotte was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her home and family were the most important things in her life. Charlotte and Joe were blessed to have had over 73 years of marriage.
Charlotte is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Brown; two daughters, the Rev. Fran (Tom) Hill of Starbuck and JoAnn (Michael) McDaniel of Fruitland Park, Fla.; five grandchildren: Winona Barber (fiancé Bill Bornitz), Tom (Susan) Geske of Marshall, Tammy (George) Passwater of Florida, Martha (Tracy) Milner of Florida and Heidi McDaniel of Florida; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents.
