Larry Rolland

April 1, 1944-July 7, 2017

MILROY — Services for Larry Rolland, 73, of Milroy will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Milroy.

Larry died unexpectedly Friday, July 7, 2017, at the Sanford Medical Center in Tracy. 

Lawrence Charles “Larry” Rolland was born April 1, 1944, in Marshall, to Manley and Vivian (Johnson) Rolland.  He grew up in rural Milroy and graduated from Milroy High School. Larry enlisted and served in the U.S. National Guard.  On July 27, 1965, he was united in marriage to Peggy Beebout. Larry worked for Standard Oil until 1978 when he took over the family farm south of Milroy. He later worked as a crane operator for Jonver Crane Service and Ceec Crane Service out of Wabasso and most recently for Thorstad in Maynard. 

Larry was a generous man who was always willing to help others in need. He played in the band Larry Rolland and the Countrymen. He enjoyed racing stock cars and snowmobiles. He also enjoyed camping and sprint car racing.  For the last few years, Larry wintered in Yuma, Arizona.

Survivors include his children Paul (and Amy) Rolland of St. Peter, Troy Rolland of Milroy, Curt Rolland of Prior Lake; grandchildren Jordann (and Allen) Boerboom, Cole Rolland and Mack Rolland; siblings Richard (and Ardace) Rolland, Doug (and Gail) Rolland, and Dale (and Bette) Rolland; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Peggy and siblings David, Robert and twin brother Terry.
