REDWOOD FALLS – Mass of Christian Burial for LeRoy Brau, 66, of Redwood Falls will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., followed by the rosary. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial is in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Minneapolis VA Oncology Department or Relay for Life. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
He died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Seasons Hospice House surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 28, 1950, in Redwood Falls, to Raymond and Marina (Frericks) Brau. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1969 and did basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas. He was an aircraft mechanic crew chief on the C130. His four years of duty included California (Travis AFB), Texas (Dyess AFB), England, Philippines, and Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Rosy; children, Brian of St. Louis, Missouri, Stacey Hennen of Dell Rapids, S.D., Stefanie Hurst of Lakeville, and Sara Wobker of Kirkland, Washington; eight grandchildren; siblings, Darlene LeGare, MaryAnn Portner, and Dale.
