ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Marshall, Minnesota

Marshall Municipal Utilities will receive bids in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 344 West Main Street in Marshall, Minnesota, until 10:00 a.m. on March 15, 2017, for the following project in MARSHALL, MINNESOTA:

Project Z53 / MMU 429 & 436: T.H. 59 NORTH and NORTH 7TH Street Watermain Replacement Project — This project consists of the replacement of an 8inch and 12-inch

watermain on

T.H. 59 North and 10-inch watermain on North 7th Street. Items of work include watermain

replacement, appropriate fittings and minor work consisting of turf establishment, curb and

gutter, bituminous patching and other minor work.

Estimated quantities of major work items for the project are as follows:

12 IN. P.V.C. WATERMAIN – 568 – L.F.

10 IN. P.V.C. WATERMAIN – 2217 – L.F.

8 IN. P.V.C. WATERMAIN – 1081 – L.F.

8 IN. REINFORCED CONCRETE DRIVEWAY PAVEMENT – 82 – S.Y.

TURF ESTABLISHMENT – 2.45 – AC.

The engineer’s estimate for the project is $333,000.00.

Immediately following expiration of the time for receiving bids, the City Clerk and Director of Public Works/City Engineer or their designee will publicly open bids in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 344 West Main Street.

All bidders are required to become acquainted with the extent of the work and the conditions under which the work will be performed.

All bids shall be made on the printed proposal forms of the City incorporated in the Project

Manual and shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier’s check, bid bond or certified check, payable to the order of the City for not less than 10% of the bid.

Bids shall be directed to the City Clerk, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper with a brief statement for the summary as to the work for which the bid is made.

The Marshall Municipal Utilities Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part of any bid, to waive minor defects, technicalities, or any informalities in the bidding or to advertise for new proposals, and to accept that bid deemed to be in the best interest of Marshall Municipal Utilities.

Plans and Specifications are on file at the Office of the City Engineer located at 344 West Main Street, Marshall, MN 56258, telephone: 507-537-6773. Vendors who desire specifications may secure them from the City Engineer. Copies of the plans and specifications will be furnished on request to any prospective bidder upon a deposit of $50.00 (nonrefundable) made payable to the City of Marshall or downloaded through eGram at https://egram.marshallmn.com.

The bids and the responsibility of the bidders will be considered by the Marshall Municipal

Utilities Commission at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in the Board Room of Marshall Municipal Utilities, 113 South 4th Street.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least 90 days after the scheduled closing time for the

receipt of bids.
