Lighting up the night

A Marshall Municipal Utilities truck was glowing as it came down Main Street Friday night as part of a lighted holiday parade. Local residents came out to cheer for lighted vehicles, floats, and even an appearance by Santa Claus.

The downtown parade was part of the kickoff for this year’s Light Up the Night event. Light displays and other activities will be held at Independence Park every weekend from Nov. 30 to Jan. 1. Free will donations will be accepted for Prairie Home Hospice and Community Care, and Holy Redeemer. For a full schedule of activities, visit prairiehomehospice.org or Facebook.
