fun and faith

The Southwest Minnesota Fellowship of Christian Athletes held its eighth annual junior sports clinic in Marshall on Thursday. A total of 250 kids, in third through eighth grade, took part in a one-day sports camp at Marshall High School and the Red Baron Arena.

After clinics for sports including hockey, football, baseball, volleyball and more, kids took part in the “Dog Patch Olympics,” where some more unusual games were featured. Above, kids hit the MHS tennis courts to play a game combining the rules of volleyball and tennis. At right, one of the wackier “sports” in the Olympics involved using a Chuckit ball launcher to see who could throw the farthest. The catch: each contestant had to run to retrieve their ball before the points could be added to their team’s total.
