‘Sundown at Sunrise’ runner-up at Florida Book Festival

Seifert’s book released in 2016; reached No. 2 on Amazon true crime category

The Florida Book Festival has announced that the book, “Sundown at Sunrise,” by Marty Seifert of Marshall has won runner-up in the History Category at the Florida Book Festival Competition. Thirteen categories of books from around the world received reviews. “Sundown at Sunrise” is Seifert’s first book.

Seifert’s book was released in December 2016 and has sold 10,000 copies. The genre of historical fiction based on a true story tells the tale of farmer William Kleeman from Redwood County who murders his family with an ax and then commits suicide in 1917. The murder site is located between Morgan and Wabasso.

The book reached No. 2 on Amazon’s true crime category within weeks of its release and has been featured in numerous television, radio and newspaper stories in the region.

Seifert has conducted over 75 presentations on the story to libraries, schools, colleges and community groups in the upper Midwest.

The book is available at the Lyon County Historical Society, Redwood County Historical Society, Becker’s Super Value of Morgan, Walnut Grove Mercantile and Hy-Vee of Marshall. It is also available at book stores and online at www.amazon.com.
