Hearing for sex sting suspect changed to next week
MARSHALL — A hearing for a Lynd man charged in connection with a prostitution sting in Springfield has been postponed until next week, Brown County court records said.
Lawrence David Depyper, 70, appeared in Brown County District Court Tuesday on charges of agreeing to hire a person under 18 for prostitution.
A complaint alleges Depyper called and texted an undercover agent posing as a 16-year-old girl, and was arrested in August after arriving at a designated location and being invited inside.
At Tuesday’s hearing, defense attorney John Yost said he had just been assigned to Depyper’s case, and needed more time to prepare.
Court minutes said the hearing was continued until Nov. 21.
