Marching band does well in its class at BOA

The Marshall Tiger marching band represented the school and the community of Marshall well as it competed at the Bands of America Super Regional in St. Louis over the weekend.

Out of 65 total bands in competition from 12 different states Marshall placed 23rd overall. Marshall competed in Class 2A and placed 7th out of 24 bands. Class 2A was extremely competitive sending 4 bands into the open class finals for the first time ever in this competition, said band director Wayne Ivers.

The band and the staff were extremely proud and very pleased with the marching band’s prelim performance, definitely the best performance of the season, Ivers said.

“The band represented Marshall High School and the city of Marshall in outstanding fashion both on and off the field,” Ivers said.
