94-year-old Hwy. 59 crash victim dies

MARSHALL — A woman has died after a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and Minnesota Highway 23 in Marshall. Marshall Police said several people were injured in the crash, which was reported around 5 p.m.

There were four vehicles involved in the crash, Marshall Police said Thursday. Five people were taken by ambulance to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center, with unknown injuries. A 94-year-old woman, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was transported to Sioux Falls for medical treatment. She later died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, Police said.

The woman’s name was not released Thursday. The crash is being investigated by the Marshall Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol, Police said.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Marshall Fire Department, and North Memorial Ambulance all responded at the scene of the crash.
