Avera providers earn board certification

Three area members of the Avera Medical Group recently achieved board certification in their fields. Certification demonstrates that a medical professional has the most current clinical knowledge and the skill and experience needed to provide high-quality patient care.

Bradley Bloemker, MD, PhD, Avera Medical Group Obstetrics & Gynecology achieved board certification through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. To obtain this certification, a physician must successfully complete a written exam, demonstrate experience in treating women’s health conditions and pass an oral exam demonstrating his or her expertise in diagnosing, managing and treating a wide range of conditions.

Dr. Bloemker joined Avera Medical Group Marshall in June 2014. He is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Providing a full range of obstetrics and gynecology care, Dr. Bloemker has a special interest in treating pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence and minimally invasive hysterectomy.

John Kass, PA-C, Avera Orthopedics, has been recertified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. To earn recertification, he passed a rigorous national recertification exam and earned substantial continuing medical education credits.

Kass joined Avera Medical Group in 2016. As a member of Avera’s orthopedics team, he plays an important role in caring for orthopedic patients in the clinic, hospital and surgery settings.

Enrico Ocampo, MD, Endocrinology, Avera Medical Group, has achieved his second recertification in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Recertification is required every 10 years after initial board certification.

As an endocrinologist, Dr. Ocampo diagnoses and treats hormone imbalances and cares for patients with conditions like diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal diseases, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, cholesterol abnormalities, obesity and metabolism-related issues. Dr. Ocampo sees patients at Avera locations in Tyler, Marshall, Granite Falls and Pipestone.
