AgCountry CEO retires
After 38 years of service in the Farm Credit System, Bob Bahl retired from AgCountry Farm Credit Services on Dec. 31, 2017. Bahl served as president and chief executive officer of Farm Credit Services of Grand Forks since 1993 and was named president and chief executive officer of AgCountry Farm Credit Services in 2008.
“I have witnessed tremendous changes within agriculture during my time,” said Bahl. “I am proud to have worked with many great people along the way and led an organization that has proactively changed to meet the needs of our industry.”
Bahl grew up on his family’s farm near the small town of Mohall, N.D. He has been married to his wife Kerry, also of Mohall, for 47 years. Together they have three children and seven grandchildren.
After graduating from the University of North Dakota with a degree in accounting and finance, Bahl started as a tax preparer for the PCA of Grand Forks. Throughout his career he served as chief financial officer, chief credit officer and executive vice president before being named CEO.
“We thank Bob for all his wonderful years of leadership at our cooperative,” said AgCountry Farm Credit Services Board Chair Leif Aakre. “During his tenure, we have made great strides in providing for the financial needs of farmers and rural residents. We wish him well in his future pursuits.”
