MinnWest hires new lamb and wool instructor

Minnesota West Community & Technical College announced that Laurie Johnson has accepted the lamb and wool instructor position in Pipestone. Johnson has a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s of science in agriculture from SDSU. Most recently Johnson is an agriculture instructor at Lake Area Technical and currently serves on numerous boards such as SD Cattlemen’s Auxiliary, Coding County 4-H, SD Cattlemen’s Association. Johnson was recently named South Dakota Agri-Woman of the Year and has experience working for RDO Equipment Co & Pfizer Animal Health.

“We are pleased to have Laurie as a member of our lamb and wool team as she will continue our tradition of providing farmers in the region with exceptional instruction on sheep production,” said Paul Lanoue, Minnesota West dean of management education. “Her passion for the sheep industry is contagious. Many of her past students have shared that they enjoy working with Laurie as she is very personable and has a strong desire to help others succeed.”
