Knight inducted into Phi Theta Kappa

Ridgewater College announces that Sean Knight of Marshall has been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. Induction ceremonies were held at the Willmar campus this spring.

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of two-year colleges that recognizes students for their academic achievements, as well as leadership, service, and scholarship. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and must have completed a minimum of 12 credits.

Anundson named to president’s list at Bob Jones

Jenna Anundson, a sophomore criminal justice major of Minneota, was named to the spring 2017 president’s list at Bob Jones University in Greenvile, S.C.

The president’s list recognizes students who earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.

SDSU recognizes student works at URSCAD

South Dakota State University had its Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity Day April 11 in the University Student Union’s Volstorff Ballroom.

The following area students were among those recognized: Schultz-Werth Awards: Kaya Borg, Clarkfield. College/Departmental Prizes: College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences: Alaire Buysse, Taunton; Juliana Pederson, Westbrook. Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry: Natalie Sovell, Marshall. College of Education and Human Sciences: Jenna Christianson, Hendricks. Van D. and Barbara B. Fishback Honors College: Erica Schuster, Canby. Library Resources: Taylor Thooft, Lynd. College of Nursing: Amy Welu, Milroy.

Prorok earns University of Nebraska-Lincoln degree

Sydney Prorok of Marshall was among more than 3,000 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises May 5 and 6.

Prorok earned a bachelor of journalism from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
