Tyykila named to Buena Vista’s dean’s list

Kathryn Tyykila of Canby was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Buena Vista University. Students named to the dean’s list must have a minimum grade- point average of 3.5 for the semester, based on a 4.0 grade point system, and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.

Flores, Schultz included on LATI honors’ list

Lake Area Technical Institute has announced the current president’s list. The president’s list is a list of outstanding students who, through their initiative and ability, have indicated a seriousness of purpose in their educational program. The president’s list is limited to full-time students who have achieved a semester grade-point average of 3.5 to 4.0. Students with a 4.0 have been noted by an *.

Local and area students so honored include: *Yasmin Flores of Marshall and Walker Schultz of Russell.

Area student named to dean’s list at UW-River Falls

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls fall semester dean’s list honoring 1,172 students has been released.

To be named to the dean’s list, a full-time undergraduate must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0, or midway between an “A” and “B” average.

Iowa State announces fall 2016 dean’s list

Approximately 8,775 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2016 dean’s list.

Students named to the dean’s list must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.

Honor students named at Baylor

More than 3, 900 Baylor University students were named to the dean’s academic honor roll for the 2016 fall semester. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7, while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Area students make dean’s list at RCTC

The following local residents were among more than 1,100 students from Rochester Community and Technical College who made the dean’s list for fall semester ending this past December.

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must successfully complete 12 or more letter-graded credits, in the same semester, and achieve a grade-point average between 3.0 and 4.0. Area students named to dean’s list at the University of Minnesota, Morris

The following area students have been named to the University of Minnesota, Morris dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.66 or higher while taking 12 or more credits, with two-thirds of these credits on the A-F grading system.

Marshall students on NWC dean’s list

Joshua Boersma and Derek Buysse*, students at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, have earned spots on the Academic dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester.

The dean’s list is comprised of students who have achieved a semester grade-point average of 3.50 or above while carrying a minimum of 12 graded hours. This semester, 415 students qualified for the dean’s list. Students who earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher are considered Collegiate Scholars, designated with an asterisk. Of the 254 Collegiate Scholars, 73 of them maintained a perfect 4.0 average and are recognized with a pound sign.

Boersma is a senior and computer science major at Northwestern College. He is the son of Brian and Michelle Boersma of Marshall.

Buysse* is a senior and accounting and business administration/agri-business major at Northwestern College. He is the son of Roger and Kristi Buysse of Marshall.

Minnesota students receive degrees from NDSU

Minnesota students were among the students to graduate from North Dakota State University in fall 2016. NDSU awarded 796 degrees to students.

An asterisk indicates students who graduated with honors. A student must earn a 3.50 grade point average or higher to graduate with honors.
