STORM Camp is coming July 23-29

STORM stands for Service To Others in Relational Ministry. STORM Camp is a week-long service opportunity for teenagers and adults that has been serving Lyon and Yellow Medicine counties for the past three years. More than 30 teens and 15 adults will partner with Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Marshall to serve more than 50 families the week of July 23.

Work we do includes scraping/painting, yard work projects, deck/wheelchair ramp repair, demolition, concrete, house cleaning, moving and organizing and almost anything else you can think of. Father’s Day celebration is June 18 at Cornerstone

On Sunday, June 18, Father’s Day, Cornerstone Church of Marshall is having a day to celebrate dads at the Liberty Park bandshell on East College Drive.

The event begins with a contemporary worship service at 11 a.m., followed by a free picnic lunch at noon. The big event of the day will be the Celebrate Dads Party beginning at 1 p.m. in the bandshell. The entertainment will include local musicians performing bluegrass, ’60s Beatles music, and local wunderkind Jett Skrien doing his illusions, tricks and sleight of hand.

The day will include a My Dad, My Hero Contest. Children of all ages are invited to complete the thought: My Dad is my hero because…? To participate submit 1-3 paragraphs to Cornerstone Church by Monday, June 12, at www.SummerBlast.net, drop off at the church office, or mail to 202 North 4th Street, Marshall, MN.

The winner of the My Dad, My Hero contest will win up to $500 in gift certificates to Marshall businesses including Hy-Vee, Menards and Runnings. Support Holy Redeemer youth by shopping at Hy-Vee

Holy Redeemer youth going to the Oklahoma Mission trip and Steubenville Conference will have a “Tag Day” at Hy-Vee on June 9,10,11. Bring the Hy-Vee tag and 5 percent of your grocery purchases will go to help cover the cost of the trips. You need to print the Tag from the Holy Redeemer website, www.holy-redeemer.com or pick one up at the Faith Formation Center or Parish Office. Thirty-five youth are attending the Mission Trip on June 17-25 and 75 youth going to Steubenville Youth Conference on July 14-17. For questions, contact the Faith Formation Office at 532-3602.
